OFFICE POLICIES

APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING:

Please call our office at 718.273.5500 if you wish to schedule an appointment. Also please know that you can call our office anytime, day or night, to cancel or reschedule an appointment.  If you call us outside normal business hours, just leave a message – we’ll call you back on the next business day.

PRESCRIPTION RENEWALS

Prescriptions are renewed during normal office hours. In some instances, we may require that the patient is seen in our office prior to medication renewal.  Prescriptions are not renewed by the on-call physician after hours or on the weekends.

CANCELLATION POLICY AFTER HOURS AND EMERGENCIES

If you need to cancel an appointment, we kindly request that you call our appointment desk at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment. It is normally our policy to charge a fee for missed appointments when we don’t receive notification of the cancellation (exceptions are made for emergencies of course).  We wish to remind all of our patients that access to health care is important to everyone, and any prior notice we receive about a cancellation allows us to offer that time slot to another patient who may benefit from it. Patients with multiple missed appointments may be dismissed from our practice.

 

In the event you are running late, please call our office. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled appointment you may be asked to reschedule.

AFTER-HOURS AND EMERGENCIES

If you are calling outside of our business hours with an urgent medical matter requiring immediate attention you will be given an option of having the call transferred to our answering service where a live operator will record your information and the nature of your call, and page the on-call physician. If you don’t hear back from us in 20-30 minutes please try again or go to Richmond University Medical Center Labor and Delivery Unit (if you are pregnant) or the Emergency Department (for very early pregnancy complications or non-obstetrical reasons). For prescription refills please call back during our business hours.
